Pakistan to export raw cotton to India through LFU Wagah

LAHORE: Pakistan will export raw cotton to India through Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagah as India has heavy demand of cotton due to increased prices and low crop.

Sources told Customs Today that Indian market has big demand for cotton and Pakistan is most suitable for Indian market to meet their needs. In this regard, Pakistan cotton ginners have received orders from India to export raw cotton through sea port Karachi and Land Freight Unit Wagah.

Meanwhile India has imported 20,000 bales through sea route in previous days. Sources told that Pakistan can generate huge revenue by exporting raw cotton to India. On the other hand Pakistan textile industry has opposed this step because higher rates in Pakistani market.

It is pertinent to mention here, that Pakistan was importing Indian raw cotton from India through Land Freight Unit Wagah in recent months. In ten months of the last fiscal year Pakistan has imported 500,000 bales of raw cotton from India through Land Freight Unit Wagah.
