Customs Intelligence, Preventive impound vehicles worth millions of rupees in June 2016

LAHORE: The Customs Intelligence and Investigations and Customs Preventive, in separate actions, impounded illegally imported vehicles worth millions of rupees from Lahore during June 2016.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation detained a non customs paid Mark-X from Bahria Town. The car was valued at around Rs 6 million.

The team also detained a non customs paid Toyota Surf Hilux on Ravi Road and a Honda car from Thokar Niaz Baig. The vehicles were valued at Rs 2 million.

The Customs Intelligence also seized Mark-X from a property dealer of Johar Town. The market value of the car is estimated at Rs 2 million.

The Customs I&I car cell seized the vehicles on the information of Director Saud Imran under the supervision of Additional Director Usman Bajwa. Inspector car cell Muratab Mushtaq,  Aftab, Salim Hashmi,  Asif Gujjar, Arshad Bhatti, and others. On the other hand Customs Preventive ASO seized illegally imported Inter cooler car worth Rs1 million.

The customs authorities on information intercepted a coaster which was being run on fake documents and number plate.  The sources said that the coaster was valued at Rs4 million.

Similarly, Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization also seized non-customs paid Mark-X model 2009 from a top police official’s family. The value of the car is determined at Rs 5 million.

The vehicles were seized on the information of Collector of Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younis under the supervision of Assistant Collector Dr Adnan. The operations were conducted by ASO team consisting Munawar khan, Mazhar Bhutter, Qayyum Butter and others. Both the organizations of customs after registering a case has started further investigations.

Heads of both Customs Intelligence and Customs ASO have passed strict instructions to the customs inspectors to adop zero tolrence policy against smugglers of non-customs paid vehicles.
