Mianwali ASO seizes non-duty paid Lexus car

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali has impounded a non-customs paid used Lexus car. The market value of the car is Rs 3,750,000 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 2,740,880.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector ASO Mianwali Muhammad Rizwan Khan received information regarding smuggling of the vehicle.  After receiving the information, deputy collector constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar, Azhar Hussain Jafri, Muhammad Umar Bhatti, Muhammad Mansha (inspectors), Muhammad Ashraf, havaldar and Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Abdullah, Riaz ahmed, Muhammad Feroz, Muhammad Anwar (sepoys ).

The ASO staff intercepted a car which was coming from Quetta to Islamabad via Mainwali bearing registration no. IDO- 786 (Islamabad),  model 2006 white colour fully automatic remote control and touch system near Musa Khel Mainwali.

The ASO team asked its owner to produce legal documents regarding possession of the car but he failed to produce the same. After his failure ASO team seized the Lexus car and registered a case against owner of the vehicle.
