KHON KAEN: Highway police seized 300 kilogrammes of compressed marijuana from an abandoned car after a chase early Sunday.
Pol Col Apichart Phochan, commander of Khon Kaen Highway Police, said the seizure was made at about 3am after a black Bangkok-registered Toyota Vios car broke through a checkpoint between kilometres 360 and 361 on Mitraphap road at tambon Muang Wan in Nam Phong district without stopping for a search.

The police gave chase and found the car abandoned about five kilometres from the checkpoint.
Found in the car were seven bags containing 300 bars of dried marijuana weighing about 300 kilogrammes.
The driver was not found.
