KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue has decided to tighten the noose around the tax evaders, taking decisive measures against such elements.
The country’s to revenue authority is also going to introduce a law against unknown accounts that will be presented before the parliament for approval by next month, said sources.
The official sources revealed that the government had made a strategy to deal with unknown accounts. In this regard, a bill had been drafted in the budget 2016-17 which will be presented before National Assembly (NA) next month.
Under the law, land revenue officials will be authorised to question any person over the property bought within ten years, while the bank accounts of land owner, investment in property and stock exchange will also be scrutinised with strict measures.
