ASO impounds huge quantity of BOPP packing film

LAHORE: Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded huge quantity of BOPP packing film during a crackdown here.

Official sources told Customs Today that on information of Collector of Customs Preventive Lahore Zulfiqar Younas a team of customs raided Rafter Goods Transporters’ godown and seized millions of rupees BOPP packing film.  The sources said that the team raided at the goods transporters near Sagian Pul.

The sources said that the non-customs paid Rs 2 million BOPP packing film was booked on a customer’s Aslam’s name.

The Customs anti-smuggling team comprising Deputy Superintendent Ejaz Rasool Shah, Inspector Manzoor Bhatti by Additional Collector Jamil Nasir raided the godown. The customs authorities after detaining the non-customs paid BOPP film has registered a case in this regard.

Previously, the ASO of Customs Preventive registered cases valuing Rs386.65 million during the period July 2015 to June 2016 whereas cases valuing Rs302.08 million were made during the corresponding period of last year.

The ASO was able to register an increase of Rs. 41.53 million as compared with the June 2015 and increase of Rs84.57 million excess as compared with the corresponding period of last year.

Anti-Smuggling Organization of Collectorate of Customs Preventive Lahore seized vehicle, goods and articles and other miscellaneous contraband items under the supervision of Dr Muhammad Adnan Khan, Assistant Collector and Munawar Ahmad Khan, Superintendent.
