Customs Preventive of Collector Zulfiqar Younis collects Rs 29,908m duty, taxes in FY 2015-16

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Lahore has collected Rs 29,908 million duty and taxes during the financial year 2015-16

According to details, the collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs 9,163 million under the head of customs duty during the period under review.

The data showed that the collecteorate was able to collect Rs 1,3702 million under the head of sales tax on import and export from Land Freight Unit (LFU) Wagah and Air Freight Unit (AFU) at Lahore airport.

Likewise collectorate of customs gathered Rs7991 million of withholding tax during the 12 months of financial year 2015-16. The data further showed that the collectorate collected Rs151 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED) during the period under review.

On the whole, the collectorate collected Rs29908 million duty and taxes from the clearance of import and export during the financial year 2015-16.

The collectoarte has jurisdiction over all the import and exports from Wagha border, Allama Iqbal International Airport, Railways Station T-10.

It also pertinent to mention here, that the Preventive collectorate is also responsible to prevent smuggling activities in the country.  The collectorate has foiled a number of mega smuggling attempts in the country and collected millions of rupees revenue from the receipts of the seized goods and articles.
