Deputy Collector Waheed Abro visits Sialkot Dry Port

SIALKOT: Deputy Collector of Customs House Sialkot Waheed Anwar Abro visited Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) along with Superintendent Muhammad Naeem, Inspector Sheikh Ikram and others officials. During his visit, the deputy collector examined the work process of designated Customs Department staff on SDPT and reviewed all sheds and checked the consignments which were pending for customs clearance. Deputy collector also reviewed the process of some consignments of customs clearing and checked all documents thoroughly and also examined the items which were packed in boxes for export purpose.

Deputy Collector Waeed Abro also appraising the various consignments with appraising officials. Deputy collector asked customs clearing agents about any complaint against any customs official and staff but all customs clearing agents said that they have not complaint against customs officials about customs clearing process. Deputy collector instructed all customs officials to work honestly and never delay any consignment without any valid reason.

Deputy collector also directed all custom clearing agents to approach customs officials in case they face any hurdle in clearance of their consignments. He said that stern action will be taken against any official found involved in delaying tactics.

On this occasion Deputy collector said that customs department will extend full support to exporters. He said that government is taking all possible measure to enhance export of the country, because we will be able to earn huge foreign revenue by increasing our exports. He said that Sialkot exporters are real asset of the country.
