Faisalabad ASO impounds Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 2m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a non-duty paid vehicle, Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 2 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.455 million.

As per details, Faisalabad Customs Collector Dr Zulifqar Ali Chaudhary received information regarding a non-duty paid vehicle. Following the information, the ASO team under the supervision of Assistant Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan took Toyota Hilux Surf bearing Registration No HQ-006 model 1995 into custody from anti-car lifting cell Police Station Sargodha Road, Faisalabad and served notice upon the accused.

After a considerable passage of time, no one appeared before the seizing agency to claim the ownership of seized vehicle. However, the ASO impounded the vehicle after making contravention report.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Safdar Ali, Khalid Noor Ashraf, Sepoy Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Javid, Muhammad Yasin and other participated in the raid. Besides, the case has been sent to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
