Govt appoints Ziauddin Wazir as Member Technical Customs Appellate Tribunal

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Ziauddin Wazir as Member Technical BS-21 at Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad.

 The ministry had appointed Ziauddin Wazir as member technical of Bench-I of the tribunal’s headquarters in the capital city.

 According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had approved the appointment in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section 3 of Section-194 of Customs Act, 1969.

The Ministry’s notification further stated that the said appointment was deputation for the period of three years or till he attain the age of superannuation or until further orders whichever is earlier, with effect from the date he assumes charge of the said post.

 Meanwhile, it is pertinent to mention that tribunal was lying almost dysfunctional owing to lacking appointment of its chairman. However, in the meantime, the ministry has appointed a member of the tribunal including another for Karachi region instead of appointing the chairman of the tribunal.
