WASHINGTON: The Singapore Ports Authority agrees to develop and modernize the Sri Lanka’s ports authority. Chief executive officer of the South Asian region of Authority Ong Kim Pong said when he met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe at an observation tour in the Singapore port premises yesterday that he has already focused attention on the modernization of the eastern container yard of the Colombo Port.
Mr. Pong has also praised the statement made by the Prime Minister at the 3rd south Asia diaspora summit that the importance of activities linking with the Indian Ports Authority. The authorities of the ports have acknowledged the Prime Minister and his representatives utilizing computers for modern technology is invaluable for the ports activities and could maintain in higher value standards.
