KARACHI: Quetta Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has accelerated operations to curb the smuggling on the special instructions of Deputy Director Imtiaz Ahmed Khan.
Customs Intelligence and investigation has seized a huge quantity of drugs and imported tyres during two successful raids. As per the details, the director received information a huge consignment of drugs were dumped in a warehouse located in Chaman which were supplies to others cities.
Director Customs Intelligence sought the deputy director and told him about the received information. The deputy director comprising a team under his own supervision included preventive Imran Azahr, Inspector Sohil Khan, Bashir Qayoom and others. The team established check-points at the exit point of the city and started the checking vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a passenger bus which was going to Mirpur Khas. While the searching of the vehicles the team recovered 300 kilo grams charas and 500 grams heroin. The team seized the drugs and included driver arrested three persons who were involved in guilty smuggling. The officials told that the concerned of accused from a notorious smuggler group Badshah Khan while Customs Intelligence has detained many persons of this group. The Customs sources told that the value of seized drugs is more than Rs 12 million.
In another operation, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has confiscated a huge quantity of imputed tyres. Director Customs Intelligence received information a consignment of imported tyres brought in a warehouse which is located in the area of market. The seized the tyres but no one could arrest.
