KARACHI: Chief Collector Appraisement (South) Abdul Rashid Shaikh has called a meeting of the Customs officers at his office to discuss monetary and revenue generation strategy.
The meeting was attended by the Collectors of all three field formations, i.e. Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement (East) Ashad Jawad, Customs-Appraisement (West) Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi and Mukarram Jah of Model Customs Collectorate-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim; while additional collectors were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) Abdul Rashid Shaikh has stressed upon the timely achievement of revenue targets by the start of the new financial year i.e.2016-17.
The Chief Collector Appraisement South also emphasized on revenue recovery through effective strategy and rapid action, adding that the Collectors of all three field formation Collectorate were also brief the performance of their respective Collectorates before the Chief Collector.
In the meeting, the Chief Collector Appraisement (South) also asked the authorities concerned of the Collectorates to review the performance of their respective Collectorates on weekly basis and also submit report in this regard.
The Chief Collector also expressed his satisfaction over the working of all three field formation Collectorates adding that limited resources and man-power could not affect the working of the Collectorates.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was a first revenue related meeting of the authorities concerned of all three field formation convened by the Chief Collector-Appraisement (South) in the fiscal year2016-17. In the meeting, the Customs authorities were determined to achieve revenue target in the first quarters July-September of the fiscal year2016-17.
