ISLAMABAD: With special instructions of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) is making significant progress against offending vehicles and non-duty paid vehicles. In this way, the movement of smuggled goods has been reduced to a large extent.
With special instruction against anti-smuggling activity, the Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad collected Rs 9.566 million of revenue in second week of July.

According to details given by Deputy Collector Head Quarter (Preventive) Shahid Jan regarding weekly performance report, he stated that ASO activity is going very successful and collectorate is gaining better collection of revenue under the said activity.
He said that in last week from 11th to 17th of July, the Model Customs Collectorate seized 2 non-duty paid vehicles, 01 offending vehicle and foreign origin cloth under value of Rs 9.566 million.
He said that all of seizers made by anti smuggling Organization, the ASO is working continuously from 7/24, with fully support of Collector Dr.Arslan.
Jan said that under the Supervision of superintend Zargam Dil the ASO seized 01 offending vehicle from GT Road Rawalpindi-Peshawar, the expected value of said vehicles is around Rs1 million.
Deputy collector further said that ASO seized foreign origin fabric in quantity of 445 kilogram under value of Rs 231709, he said that in these day due to pressure of anti smuggling activity the smugglers use private vehicles for purpose of smuggling.
DC also said that under the Custom act ASO seized 02 NDP vehicles under value of Rs 7824958, and seized 01 offending vehicle under value of Rs1000000.
The Deputy Collector said that elimination of smuggling, which is causing loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer, could help reduce dependence on debts, he also said that Islamabad Customs is trying its level best to overcome the smuggling trends.
Shahid Jan said that the smuggled goods and Offending vehicles have been seized under the Customs Act, 1969, FIRs have been lodged under the Custom rules against the evaders and further investigations is under process.
