Gujranwala Customs Intelligence impounds Toyota Mark-II

SIALKOT: The Gujranwala Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded a non-duty paid vehicle from a renowned industrialist and political figure of Sialkot.

Assistant Director Customs Intelligence Zainab Mehmood, along with Inspector Majid Raza and other team members, was checking vehicles at Sialkot Cantt near Clock Tower and Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Chowks.

During the checking of the vehicles, the team intercepted a Toyota Mark-II vehicle bearing registration number LEG-08-8232 which was playing on road without Customs clearance duty. The team asked the owner of the vehicle Adnan Ikram about documents of customs clearance but he failed to show documents about the customs duty payment. It is learnt that the owner of the vehicle is industrialist and political figure of Sialkot.

The team impounded vehicle and shifted into the compound of Customs Intelligence while released the owner of the vehicle after proper interrogation. According to team the Market Value of vehicle is Rs.3 million whereas the team estimated the value of vehicle Rs.1.8 million. Office Superintendent told Customs Today that the Vehicle will be sent to concerned laboratory for test and after test the department will refer case to Adjudication court.
