ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar has held the first auction of the new fiscal year 2016-17 and generated Rs 13.37 million.
According to the details, the process of the auction was supervised by Auction Deputy Collector Muhammad Amin here at Customs House. The auction was held during July 20-22. People from all around Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the auction.
The Peshawar Customs presented 16 non-duty paid (NDP) vehicles for auction. The vehicles were sold for Rs 10 million that is a handsome revenue amount generated by the collectorate during first auction of the running fiscal year 2016-17.
The customs also presented different perishable items and black tea lots in quantity of 205 bags. These items were auctioned for Rs 3.37 million.
Following the directions of FBR chairman regarding anti-smuggling drive, offending vehicle and non-duty paid vehicles, the anti-smuggling cell was working efficiently under command of Collector Qurban Ali Khan, officials said.
