KARACHI: Pakistan and India have agree to boost custom intelligence network at the border areas to stop smuggling and illegal border crossing through land and sea routes.
According to the details, the Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force held a second round of meeting in which the steps to curb smuggling and other issues were discussed.
Representatives of the Interior Ministry, Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Customs, Anti -Narcotics Force, including other officers of the department attended the meeting. During the meeting, both side agreed to keep ceasefire intact at the boarders and keep strict vigilance to stop illegal crossing and smuggling.
Both the countries agreed to boost ties between customs intelligence as well as Anti Narcotics Force (ASF), joint surveillance of the borders and boosting the custom intelligence network on the both side of the borders at the sea and land routes.
First day meeting between the high level officials of the two neighboring countries held on Wednesday on positive note at the Rangers Headquarters Lahore whereas issues including prevention of cross-border smuggling, swift return of people mistakenly crossing the border and incidents of unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LOC) were discussed in detailed.
