Summary sent to President for withdrawal of Customs Act: Governor

PESHAWAR: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that the issue of Customs Act would be resolved soon as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has forwarded a summary to President Mamnoon Hussain for withdrawal of implementation of the Act in Malakand division.

He was talking to a 27-member delegation from Malakand Division, led by Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Maqam at the Governor’s House.

Beside others, Swat District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah, Member Provincial Assembly Rashad Khan, Qaimoos Khan, Sarzamin Khan, Malik Jehanzeb Khan, tehsil nazims and leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Malakand division were also present on the occasion.

The delegation apprised the governor of the grievances of the people of Malakand Division about implementation of Customs Act in the area. The governor assured his full support to resolve the issue smoothly and on priority basis.
