Customs Addl Director Misbah removed from service

ISLAMABAD: Misbah Khatana, a Pakistan Customs Service officer of BS-19, has been given major penalty of “removal from service” over inefficiency and misconduct.

The disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the officer, last posted as Additional Director at Directorate of Risk Management, Karachi, on account of inefficiency and misconduct in term of Rule 3(a) & under the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rule, 1973.

After having examined the relevant record and written defence by the accused officer, the authorised officer/Member (Admin) found Misbah Khatana guilty of all charges mentioned in the show-cause notice dated 13.11.2015 and recommended to the Authority the imposition of major penalty of removal from service upon the officer under Rule 1(1)(b)(iii) of the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.

The FBR chairman, being authority, after having considered all the aspects of the case, imposed major penalty of removal from the service upon the officer under Rule 1(1)(b)(iii) of the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 with effect from July 15, 2016.

However, the officer will have a right to appeal to the Appellate Authority as provided under Civil Servants (Appeals) Rules, 1977.
