Customs Export issues notice to Faheem Tiles to clear short payment

KARACHI: The Customs Export authorities have expedite their efforts to recover outstanding amount against companies which are allegedly involved in tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Export authorities issued a show cause notice to the management of M/s Faheem Tiles. Sources said that during scrutiny of import data it was revealed that M/s Faheem Tiles imported five consignments of tiles during the month of December 2015. The above said company availed undue benefits and concessions by using wrong PCT heading and SRO.

The company also deposited short payment of Rs1.3 million. After detecting the tax evasion Customs Export authorities issued a show cause notice to the management of the company asking them to clear short payment within seven days. Customs authorities also imposed a penalty of Rs90,000 on the company which they have to deposit along with payment failing which stern legal action will be taken against the company.
