Deputy Collector Ilyas reviews cargo clearance process at Sialkot dry port

SIALKOT: Deputy Collector Muhammad Ilyas visited Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) with Superintendent Sardar Manzoor and Muhammad Naeem.

The deputy collector reviewed the all sheds and checked the process of cargo by the customs officials. He checked the consignments and documents of shipments whereas he checked the process of consignments checking by the customs officials at dry port and he reviewed the performance of consignments checking. He also met the custom clearing agents at the dry port where he asked them if they have any complaint against any customs official. He said that he will take legal action against corrupt and guilty officials.

The Customs Clearing Agents told deputy collector that the customs officials are not disturbing them rather they are very cooperate with us and we have not any complaint against any official. Deputy collector also reviewed the containers from out and inside whereas he instructed the Incharges of containers that they must clean the containers from inside before loading of customs clearance consignments because it is very appropriate to protect the consignments from sea air.

He also directed the customs clearing agents that they must adopt WeBoc system for export and import whereas the all customs clearing agents should study new SRO’s and Customs laws so that they don’t feel any confusion during the clearance of consignments. He instructed Customs officials who were performing duty on Dry port that they perform their duty honestly, devotedly and as a good official of customs department. He said that all customs officials are asset of country because they make cause of promotion of revenue in the country and country is earning huge foreign exchange on behalf of customs officials. He also visited WeBoc office and checked the system of WeBoc and filing system of WeBoc. He appreciated to work of officials of WeBoc system.
