M/s TNB Liberty Power Limited and M/s Cider Foods (Private) Limited had filed these cases. The bench adjourned the hearing when counsels sought time to prepare arguments on the cases.

M/s TNB Liberty Power Limited had filed the cases against Regional Tax Office, Islamabad and the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue. The company had filed a fresh petition before the court carrying a matter seeking restrictions for FBR on making recovery of outstanding tax amount.

M/s Cider Foods Private Limited had filed the case against RTO, Islamabad. It had also pleaded the court that to direct FBR on deciding its pending application before an RTO officer.

The company had also prayed the court to restrict RTO from making any coercive move on recovering tax amount and for nullification of notice issued to the company.

The company had also tried the lower forums including the ATIR for relief and brought the matter before the IHC after denial of justice from lower forums, it stated.
