Faisalabad Customs seizes smuggled fabrics, non-duty paid vehicle

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad has seized grey fabrics worth Rs 1 million involving customs duty and taxes value Rs 273,100.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Azmat Tahira received information about some smuggling attempts. She formed a customs team comprising Deputy Director Riaz Hussain, Superintendent Muhammad Rafique, Muhammad Saleem, Naseer Ahmed Mansoor Nasir Intelligence Officer and sepoy Masood Iqbal and Muhammad Iqbal.

The ASO team intercepted trailer bearing registration no TLQ- 768 loaded with smuggled fabrics near Pansra Interchange Jhang Road Faislabad.

The ASO team asked the suspects who was identified as Muhammad Imran son of Muhammad Ramzan failed to show any documents regarding possession and transportation of goods.

The customs team seized the smuggled fabrics along with container and sent the report to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.
