Faisalabad ASO impounds Toyota Fielder worth Rs 1.2m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded a foreign origin Toyota Fielder car worth Rs 1.2 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 608,234.

On information received through Faisalabad Customs Collector Dr Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary, the ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Safdar Ali, Khalid Noor, sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Javaid, Muhammad Yasin and others conducted the raid.

3,000 Iran-bound containers stranded at Karachi port as Hormuz tensions disrupt shipping

The team found a car bearing Registration No IDH-3634 model 2002 in white colour parked near Ghulam Muhammadabad Police Station and physically examined the vehicle in the presence of witnesses.

Superintendent Saeed Joiya along with team of ASO impounded the vehicle under Section 2(s), read with SRO 566(1)/2005 of Section 16, 18 of the Customs Act, 1969, Section 3 of Sales Tax Act, 1990. No one came forward to claim the ownership of the vehicle and was taken into the custom custody.

The seizure report submitted to the adjudication department for further legally process.
