ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal (FST) on Monday adjourned the hearing of four tax cases, challenging administrative measures taken by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The FST division bench comprising Members, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Muhammad Arshad Bhatti heard all four cases and adjourned the hearings after the counsels involved demanded time to prepare arguments.

Meanwhile, the members of bench directed the counsels to submit relating documents prior to next arguments.

FBR employees, Shaukat Hussain, Khalid Hameed, Shabbir Hussain and Zulifqar Hussain had filed these cases.

Appellants had challenged administrative measures taken by FBR administration about their promotion. They had complained before FST for not being granted their due promotion despite serving for years in FBR. It is pertinent to mention that these cases are amongst most promotion cases FST hear about FBR.

The appellant had sought tribunals’ directives granting them promotion to their due scales higher than those they are working in currently.
