KARACHI: The Input-Output Co-efficient Organisation (IOCO) officials have expressed their concern over the high-rate rebate claims of exporters, Customs Today learnt.

Sources said that the exporters have claimed high-rate rebates against their exported consignments under concessionary SRO-655 and -565.

They added that the Model Customs Collectorate of Export has sent the exporters to IOCO for the settlement of their rebate claims. They said that the IOCO authorities concerned are clarifying rebate claims after their verification. The exporters, however, are pressing the authorities concerned for high-rate claims.

The MCC-Export officials have started a crackdown on the defaulter exporters. The collectorate has also directed the attachment of the property against those exporters who did not pay their duty/taxes in terms of export. It has played a significant role in recovering the outstanding duty/taxes.
