Quetta Customs confiscates 5kg charas, vehicles parts

KARACHI: The Quetta Customs Collector has seized chassis of jeeps , tyres and a huge consignment of drugs during two successful raids.

Deputy Collector Jahanzaib Abbasi received information the some smugglers are planning to smuggle spare parts of jeeps out of city. Consequently, the deputy director informed the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) and directed them to curb the smuggling. The ASO team including Inspector Masroor Khan Abbasi, Inspector Ishtiaq Kaker, Inspector Shama and others formed check posts at the entry and exit points of the city and started checking of the vehicles.

3,000 Iran-bound containers stranded at Karachi port as Hormuz tensions disrupt shipping

During the checking of vehicles, the officials intercepted a suspicious truck. During the searching, the team recovered 8 tempered chassis and 50 tyres of jeeps. The team seized the items and arrested three persons at the time of the action. ASO officials said that the market value of seized items is more than Rs 4 million.

In another action Quetta Customs Collectorate has seized huge consignment of narcotics. The ASO team raided in the area of Gul Zai and recovered 1 kilogram of heroin and 5 kilogram of charas. The customs officials recovered these narcotics from a car which was parked in a house. The ASO team impounded the car along with narcotics. Customs officials said that the value of seized narcotics is more than Rs 3 million.
