KUWAIT CITY: Two men tried to smuggle nearly 1.5 million drug pills in a Ukraine charcoal shipment into Kuwait but they were seized at the port in the oil-rich Gulf emirate.
Kuwaiti customs inspectors decided to search the shipment after suspecting it contained illegal items, the Arabic language daily ‘Al Watan’ said.
It said nearly 1.5 million drug pills were “expertly” hidden inside the coal, adding that a Saudi and a Syrian who imported the shipment were arrested.
