Irish company’s profit increases to €1.77m

DUBLIN: Pop star Hozier is rolling in it after his company’s pre-tax profits soared to €1.77million. New accounts filed by Hozier’s Haskey Ltd show that the firm recorded the bumper profits after revenues at the company increased by 334% to €2.29m.

The Co Wicklow native and Grammy nominee only released his debut studio album, Hozier in September 2014 followed by the global release of the album In October 2014.

The album release followed the earlier release of his second EP From Eden in 2014 and new accounts filed show that pre-tax profits increased by 367% going from €385,927 to €1.772m in the 12 months to the end of December last.

However, the accounts tell the story on only a fraction of Hozier’s growing wealth as the figures relates to the firm’s activities wholly undertaken in Ireland.

Exhaustive touring over the past one and a half years have made Hozier a major star in the US and beyond. In a recent interview, Hozier admitted that he has been living out of a suitcase for the past 18 months and was looking forward to a break to work on his next album.

He said: “It’s been back and forth from America to Europe and back – and Australia a few times.” In 2015, Hozier added to his business’s coffers with sold out gigs in Amsterdam and Killarney while his entire UK 2015/16 Winter tour with dates at Birmingham, Manchester, Portsmouth, Cardiff and London also sold out.
