Sri Lankan tax revenue increases by Rs100b in 1H

COLOMBO: Government’s tax income has increased by Rs.100 billion during the first half of this year. According to the Cabinet Co-spokesman, Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake this is considered a 20 per cent increase of the government’s tax income.

The outstanding institutions, which have reported the highest tax income during this period, are the Inland Revenue Department, Excise Department, and the Sri Lanka Customs.
