ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue’s Directorate of intelligence and investigation, Inland Revenue, Islamabad, has detected tax evasion worth millions of rupees by a known outlet in the twin city of federal capital.
A team of the intelligence wing of the revenue authority, under the supervision of its Assistant Director Mehdi Hassan, conducted a raid on the said outlet in Rawalpindi and seized all computers and files related to business accounts. After preliminary investigation, it was found that the owner of the outlet has several undeclared bank accounts.
The outlet was dealing in garments for men, women and kids, home decorations, ladies bags and jewellers and was not registered under the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
