FCCI chief laud facilities being provided to visitors at passport office

FAISALABAD. Tout mafia has been totally eliminated from local passport office while facility of depositing passport fee in all branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) is an added facility to the people applying for the passport, said Riaz Shah Assistance Director Immigration and Passport Faisalabad.

In a meeting with Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz, president of the FCCI, he said that a number of steps have been taken to facilitate the people intending to get passport. He said that a comprehensive crackdown has been launched against tout mafia in collaboration with local administration.

“Cases were also registered against the person extorting money from the innocent people”, he said and added that procedure to get the passport has been totally streamed lined. The applicants can deposit their fee in any branch of national bank in addition to utilizing the instrument of “Mobicash”. No unnecessary documents are required to get the passport except original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) for their identification. He said that all applicants are treated equally on merit however priority is given to the senior citizens, government employers, pregnant women and sick individuals. He further told that the procedure to get fresh passport along with its renewal has been displayed prominently in the local office while announcements are also made requesting people not to fall prey to the tout mafia.

He told that after 2 pm the time has been fixed for the members of the FCCI, however if they had any emergency and want to visit passport office earlier, they should get advance appointment to avoid any inconvenience. He told that ordinary passport is provided within 12 working days while urgent passport is delivered within 4 days.

Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz, president FCCI, expressed satisfaction over the excellent working of this office and told that he had provided a shed in the passport office in order to provide shelter to the visitors. He assured that flexes containing details of procedure to get passport would also be displayed in the city for the awareness of the general masses. Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz said that the security in this office should be improved while steps should also been taken for the safety of the important official record. He assured to write down a letter to the director general Immigration and passport to construct a store with racks on the upper story of the existing building of Passport office for the safety of official record. He also expressed satisfaction over the liaison between the FCCI and passport office and said that this Relationship will be further strengthened with regular interaction.

Haji Muhammad Shafi acting vice president, Rana Sikandar-e- Azam, Sana ullah Niazi, Chaudhary Muhammad Boota, Chaudhary Muhammad Asgher , Sidhey Mian were also present during this meeting.
