MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate Multan will roll out Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) module from September 1 for clearance of import consignments at the Multan Dry Port.
The Pakistan Customs has started the EIF project to facilitate stakeholders and monitoring of importers. The EIF system has been formed by the Directorate of Reforms and Automation and will replace the existing the system of (Web based one Customs) WeBOC from September 1.
Pakistan Customs have declared mandatory for all importers to submit their Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) for the clearance of their import consignments. Importers are required to obtain their Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) from the State Bank of Pakistan and this system works manually and through Old One Customs System to facilitate the importers.
The introduction of Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) will make clearance of import consignment easier for the importer due to its multiple features for the importers.
The purpose of launching Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) system will end counterfeit activities in the import process at the time of clearance and it will bring more transparency in the import process through this Electronic Issuance Form (EIF).
Multan Customs have decided to organize one day training programme of the importer to bring awareness about the newly introduce system of “Rollout of Issuance of Electronic Form (EIF) Module very soon in order to train them for filing their import GD,s without any hurdle with the collaboration PRAL.
Few Importers have also shown their concern over adoption of this Election Issuance Form (EIF) due to information about this system.
