ISLAMABAD: Eight Pakistan Customs Service officers are leaving for Malaysia to attend the Work Trade Organization meeting on Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).
The officers, including Member(Legal)Shaukat Ali, Customs (Valuation) Director General Syed Tanveer Ahmad, Chief (International Customs) Dr Muhammad Zubair Yousfani, Port Muhamad Bin Qasim Collector Mukarram Jah Ansari, Secretary (Mgt. Customs-I) Hasan Saqib Sheikh, Directorate of R&A (Customs) Additional Director Abdul Haye Sheikh, Risk Management Additional Director Azhar Hussain Merchant and Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Additional Director Rizwan Basharat, are going to attend “Consultation in Malaysia on Implementation of the Work Trade Organization’s Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA)”, scheduled to held from August 22 to 26 in Malaysia.
The Trade Facilitation Agreement contains provisions for expediting the movement, release and clearance of goods, including goods in transit. It also sets out measures for effective cooperation between customs and other appropriate authorities on trade facilitation and customs compliance issues. It further contains provisions for technical assistance and capacity building in this area.
