Collector Adjudication Zafar Akhtar declares seizure of Land Cruiser legal

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Lahore declared confiscation of black Land Cruiser V8 model 2012, seized by the Customs Investigation and Intelligence Lahore as legal.

Sources told Customs Today that the vehicle was confiscated by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation team while it was being plyed in Gulberg and the team following information intercepted the vehicle on 15/3/2016.

According to sources when the customs authorities intercepted and chased the vehicle the driver slipped away leaving the vehicle at some distance.

The authorities took the vehicle in their custody and seized it in the name of the state.

It was reported further that the Customs I&I sent the vehicle for it forensic test and it was reported by the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory, Lahore that the vehicle’s chassis number has been cut and wielded.

Customs Adjudication collector Zafar Akhtar said that he examined the case record and heard the oral arguments put forth by the detecting staff, the respondent neither responded to the show cause notice nor appeared to defend their case.

He said that that the charges leveled against the accused party in the show cause stands established and consequently he ordered the seizure of Toyota Land Cruiser’s confiscation as legal.
