Customs Adjudication declares seizure of non-duty paid Land Cruiser jeep legal

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Lahore has declared the confiscation of white Land Cruiser jeep 2009, registration number AB-795 Azad Kashmir, as legal. The vehicle was seized by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore while it was being used at New Defence Road,  Khyaban-e-Amin Society, Riwind Road and the customs team following an information intercepted the vehicle on 15/3/2016.

 Sources told Customs Today that when the customs team intercepted the vehicle, the driver, Nadir Ali, had failed to produce any documents showing legal import of the vehicle. The authorities seized the vehicle on the spot.

 Customs Adjudication Collector Zafar Akhtar said that he examined the case record and heard the oral arguments put forth by the detecting agency, the respondent neither responded to the show cause notice nor do they appear to defend their case.

He said that that the charges leveled against the accused party in the show-cause stands established and consequently he ordered the seizure of Toyota Land Cruiser’s confiscation as legal.
