Customs Intelligence impounds Suzuki Jimny Jeep from Khushab

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations’ field investigation unit (FIU) impounded a non-duty paid Suzuki Jimny Jeep worth Rs 800,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 874,240 in Khushab.

Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Hussain received information regarding non-duty paid vehicle on which he constituted a team comprising Investigation Officer Saeed Hayat, Driver Ashiq Hussain, sepoys Muhammad Anwar, Sajjad Ahmed, Naeem Khan Niazi and Muhammad Musadiq to impound the vehicle.

The customs team during the road checking near Katha Chowk Khushab intercepted a Jimny Jeep bearing Registration No JAF- 257 and found its chassis cut and welded.

The driver asked its owner who was identified as Habibullah to produce documents regarding legal possession of the vehicle but he failed to provide any legal documents. The customs team impounded the vehicle and registered a case against the owner.

The seizure report has been submitted to the adjudication department for further legal action.
