FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan has issued a show cause notice to a suspect allegedly involved in smuggling of 10,190 kilogramme of grey textile fabrics by using a trailer.
As per details, Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted a trailer bearing Registration No TLC-868 in its jurisdiction.
The team asked the driver named Muhammad Imran to show documents regarding legal import of the fabric but he could not produce the same. Therefore, the officials impounded the trailer along with fabric under customs laws and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
Now, Additional Collector Beelam issued notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.
However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on next date of hearing i.e. October 2, 2016. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case.
The adjudication authority also directed Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Hussain to attend the hearing on schedule date along with relevant record.
