Sialkot Customs playing vital role to curb smuggling: Collector Ahmed Reza

SIALKOT: Collector Customs Sialkot Ahmed Reza Khan has directed the Customs Preventive deputed at Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) to extend full cooperation to pilgrims.

Talking to Customs Preventive staff at Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL), Collector Ahmed advised them to check all the luggage carried by Hajis carefully and apprise them of customs law.

He expressed his satisfaction on the overall performance of Customs Preventive staff and said that due to these measures smuggling attempts are decreasing day by day. He said that devoted and honest staff is real asset of the Customs Department. He said the staff must check suspected passengers and in case of any recovery they should take action against him according to the law.

He advised Customs Preventive staff not to disturb passengers on airport without any solid reason and the Customs Preventive staff should perform duty to provide facilities to passengers and if they find or recovery any illegal item, weapon, narcotics from any passenger, then they can detain the passenger .

He said that performance of Customs Preventive staff is much better on Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) and his staff is playing vital role to curb smuggling on airport.
