Customs seizes smuggled goods, vehicles worth Rs 10.086m in third week of August

ISLAMABAD: Customs Colletorate anti-smuggling squad has seized different types of goods, two non-duty paid and eight offending vehicles worth Rs 10.086 million in third week of August.

Deputy Collector Preventive Shahid Jan told Customs Today that anti-smuggling squad and car cell showed outstanding performance in third week of August, seized different types of foreign origin goods.

He said customs teams are conducting different operations to control non-duty paid vehicles which are plying on roads.

Shahid Jan said that Customs teams seized huge quantity of smuggled goods which includes soft drinks 1600 litters, Jeera 9000 kgs, cloth 280 kgs, Alpha switches 42kgs, Molino Oval switches 14 kg, Pump for fish aquarium 62 kg, decoration pieces 184 kg, power hallow punch 14 kg, artificial beats 120 kg, , dish to HD recorder 56 nos, old and used auto parts 900 kg, dry battery 23 nos, shampoo 1442 litters, Aluminum Foil, Rexcine artificial leather 748 kg, led pencil 700 nos, ball pen 24 kg, bicycle parts 260 kg, roller chains 600 kg, generator, starter drive for car 15 kg, carbon self 23 kg, generator parts 18 kg, car horn 128 nos.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said that customs teams also impounded non-duty paid vehicles during third week of August 2016 which includes Toyota Hilux Surf LED-14-1033 one BMW car No-U-2666, the total value of NDP vehicles is yet to be asserted the deputy collector said.
