Customs submits investigation challan in diamond, gold smuggling case

LAHORE: The Customs Investigation and Prosecution team of Customs Preventives has presented an investigation challan against a couple allegedly involved in smuggling of gold, diamond and precious watches.

Earlier, the Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling had sent both accused to jail in on 14-days judicial remand in the said case.

As per detail, customs authorities at Lahore airport recovered smuggled diamonds, 2.5 Kg gold and 8 gold watches of Rado brand worth Rs 15 million from passengers named Rana Muhammad Rafique Farooq and his spouse Sara Adnan travelling from Sharjah to Lahore.

After arresting them, the Customs Investigation team presented them to the court and got their physical remand for further interrogation. However, the hearing of the case has also been adjourned for new date of this week.
