DG Imtiaz steps up measures to stop money laundering

KARACHI: Customs I&I DG Imtiaz Ahmad Khan will chair an important meeting regarding the money laundering cases during the current week in order to prevent such attempts in future.

Source informed Customs Today that officers concerned will give a detailed briefing on the ongoing progress of the different cases related to money laundering during the meeting. The officers will also give presentation on the mechanism adopted by the customs officers to grill the culprits involved in the heinous crime.

Customs Intelligence-Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Director Asif Marghoob and Customs Intelligence-Enforcement Director Yaqoob Mako will also go to Islamabad for another important meeting during the current month.

The meeting will be chaired by DG Imtiaz Ahmad Khan to discuss criteria for establishing a money laundering cell. Both directors of Karachi Customs Intelligence will give briefing to the DG on the issue.
