ISTANBUL: Pointing out the security agreement signed between the two countries, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad said that Kuwaiti-Turkish security ties are based upon solid fundamentals.
Bilateral cooperation in areas such as anti-terrorism and organized crime, anti-drugs, anti-smuggling of cultural works, borders protection, illegal immigration, and illegal exchange of information that might reveal counterfeited, stolen, and lost passport documents Kuwait official said.
Al-Fahad’s remarks came upon arrival here along with an official delegation in a visit upon the invitation of the Undersecretary of Turkish Interior Ministry Sebahattin Ozturk.
The purpose of the visit is to consult on security cooperation subjects between Kuwait and Turkey, and view latest security updates on the regional arena, Lt-Gen Al-Fahad stated to KUNA.
The security agreement signed between the two countries by decree in Istanbul in 2005 includes exchanging of information regarding ways to combat crimes, as well as precautionary measures to prevent and limit them, he added.
It also included bilateral cooperation in providing mutual technical aid to hold joint training courses on all security areas.
Upon arrival, the Kuwaiti security delegation was received by Deputy Undersecretary of Turkish Interior Ministry Anwar Saleh Oglu and Kuwait’s General Consulate in Istanbul Ambassador Sheikh Salem Fahad Al-Sabah.
