LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed Director Legal Customs to appear before the court with record in a bail matter of an accused involved in bringing a container to Peshawar filled with crackers and explosive material from Karachi.
A division bench of the apex court comprising Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood heard the case. It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs officials arrested a man with a container of explosive material and registered a case against him under Explosive Act.
Later, the accused got bail from a court. The Customs officials challenged the court verdict in the Supreme Court. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the Supreme Court bench directed Director Legal Customs to appear in person and explain his point of view on the above mentioned case during the next hearing of case.
