Sindh government aims to offer incentives to Chinese investors

KARACHI: The Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) chairperson met and briefed Chinese companies about investment opportunities in Sindh in the areas of water supply, sewerage system, housing and town planning, infrastructure development, road and railway network, agriculture and other public and private sector projects.

SBI Chairperson Naheed Memon held two separate meetings with Chinese companies at her office on Friday.

She stressed that the Sindh government was offering attractive incentives to the investors in various sectors. She also highlighted the importance and benefits of capital injection into different sectors connected to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) programme.

In the first meeting, a 21-member delegation of International Green Economy Association (IGEA) was led by IGEA Vice Chairman Zhao Michael. He told the SBI chief that IGEA was working in China as a think tank on green economy projects, which has over 1,500 enterprises as members.

The second meeting was held with CYPE, a group of Chinese investment companies, led by its Chairman Hu Xiongzhe. The delegation comprised officials of Cripe Investment Management Group of China.

They said Chinese companies were interested in working on projects of medical parks, education city, hospitals, road and railway infrastructure.
