Deputy Collector Asma issues notice in non-duty paid Toyota Vitz car case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to the unknown owner of non-duty paid Toyota Vitz car, which was brought into country illegaly.

As per details, the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Mianwali staff found a vehicle, Toyota Vitz bearing Registration No QA-399 parked near Kundia Morr and no one came forward to claim the ownership of the same.

Therefore, the official impounded the vehicle worth Rs 700,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 341,850 under Section 2 (2), read with SRO 566(10)/2005 Section 16 and 18 of the Customs Act, 1969.

Later, the customs authorities forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication where Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued show cause notice to an unknown person.

Asma Hameed also directed the seizing officer concerned or other officers to attend the hearing on the schedule date along with relevant record.
