KUALA LUMPUR: Kanowit police seized various brands of beer and cigarettes here yesterday.
The various brands of beer seized consisted of 231 crates, 51 boxes and 24 bottles while 217 cartons of different brands of cigarettes were also confiscated.
According to the Kanowit police chief DSP Daniel Benjamin, the seizure was made around 12.20pm yesterday during an integrated operation at Nanga Bob, Jalan Nibong Tada, Kanowit where a lorry was stopped.
He said upon inspection, it was found that the vehicle carried goods alcohols and cigarettes – which were not tax approved. The vehicle and the driver were later brought to the police station, he added.
