KIEV: Ukraine has suspended imports of natural gas from Poland due to a leak on a pipeline in Lviv region, Ukrtransgaz spokesman Maksym Beliavsky told Interfax-Ukraine. “In Lviv region, depressurisation of the 800-mm trunk gas pipeline has temporarily halted gas imports from Poland. Repair work is underway,” he said.
Ukraine’s capacity for reverse pipeline imports of gas from Poland equals to 4.3 million cubic meters a day. Ukraine has imported 28.4 mcm of gas from Poland in the first seven days of September. Ukrtransgaz, a 100% subsidiary of Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates Ukraine’s trunk gas pipeline system, as well as 12 underground storage facilities with capacity for 31 billion cubic meters.
