FBR issue notices to non-filers parliamentarians

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued notices to all those parliamentarians who are failed to submit their tax returns.

Sources told Customs Today that a directory will be published in which all those parliamentarians who are not filing their tax returns will be mentioned. FBR already directed all chief commissioners of Regional Tax Offices to finalize all details in this regard and pursue these parliamentarians to clear their outstanding tax amount at the earliest. Sources said that more than 50% parliamentarians found involved in tax evasion and after receiving notices they cleared their pending amount now only 30% parliamentarians are left who are still failed to clear outstanding tax amount.

Sources said that most of the parliamentarians belong to Balochistan, Punjab and Sindh, while few belong to Khyber Pukhtoonkhawa. Sources said that after receiving notices if these parliamentarians will not file their tax returns then action will be taken against them according to law.
