ASO seizes 2,400 cell phones, vehicles worth Rs 36m

KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized a huge quantity of cell phones during a successful raid.

Chief Enforcement Zahid Khokher received information that some elements were planning to smuggle cell phones to Karachi from Balochistan. On this, he told the Collector Saifuddin Junejo and directed him to curb the smuggling. Consequently, he formed an anti-smuggling team under his own supervision and established check posts. During the checking of vehicles, the team intercepted a jeep register no PBF 8147 and recovered 2,400 cell phones included Samsung206, Sony Ericson 56, Motorola 842 and Amazon932.
